The game is set on a dark night, with a deep black sky over the rooftops of a town. In the sky are stars and the echoes of fireworks already spent. A solitary rocket blasts across the top of the reels, leaving a trail of golden stars in its wake, and another stands beside the reels, ready to launch - and trigger the bonus - when the fuse is lit.

The Fireworks slot has 10 pay lines in total, and symbol combinations pay anywhere on these lines as long as they land adjacent to each other. Symbols can appear on their own, or in stacks of up to three. Those symbols include four colourful gemstones (purple, blue, red and white) plus wads of cash, stacks of gold bars, and casino 7s. The rocket symbol pays highest of all, at 250x the stake for a line of five.

The rocket at the side of the screen has a long fuse that stretches right under the reels. At the start of each spin, the fuse is lit and it begins to creep across the reels. It will run past any reel that lands with a full stack of three identical symbols, but it will be extinguished on any reel that has two or three different kinds of symbols.

If the fuse reaches the rocket, it will launch and the feature will trigger. During the feature, one of the stacked reels is selected at random, and it will lock in place along with any other reels featuring the same symbol. A winning respin then takes place, with one, two or three of that same symbol guaranteed to land on each respun reel.
