New UK Gambling Commission

Casino News 12th November 2014

After a lot of back and fourth including High Court appeals the new UK Gambling Commission finally came into effect on the 1st November 2014. All casinos allowing bets and wagers from UK players must now obtain a UK gaming licence and conform to the new rules and regulations as laid out by the Gambling Commission.

What do the new Gambling Commission rules mean?

There are many changes that will come into effect, the main one of course being that any legally operating casino based within the EU must obtain licence from the newly founded commission. There are also tax implications that will come into effect from 1st December 2014 that will see a levy placed at the point of consumption.

What does this mean for me?

As a player you shouldn't be too concerned by the changes, however if you are a UK casino player you should look out for the new Gambling Commission logo on any casino that you are considering playing at. There is likely to be some unscrupulous operators that decide to try and circumvent the licensing regulations and thereby off improved bonus terms and incentives to players, however we would advise caution when depositing with these casinos. Do you're homework and stay safe when it comes to selecting a new casino.
