How Finn’s Golden Tavern works

If you have seen or played Finn and the Swirly Spin, you will be familiar with how this game works. Instead of reels, a 5x5 grid of symbols is laid out in a spiral, reaching from the bottom left corner and ending in the centre. Wins are made when three or more matching symbols sit adjacently on horizontal or vertical lines. Those wins fall from the reels, and the remaining symbols move around the spiral, while new ones start their journey from the corner.

Finn’s Golden Tavern is set, as you might expect, in a public house. The symbols include four different drinks: a bottle of extra strength spirit, a beer tankard, a wine bottle and a metal stein. The game grid appears on a table covered in beer mats and drinks, alongside a compass, a candle, a knife and a set of dice.

In addition to the drink symbols, there are also shiny golden coins which can appear anywhere on the grid. These have random values of 5, 10, 20 and 50. Any three or more adjacent coins will form a win line, paying the total of all those coin values.

Wild Stars

Any win combination will leave behind a magic star when leaving the reels. That star is a wild symbol, which remains in place until it is able to form another combination, or until the avalanche sequence ends. Wilds can complete multiple sets of symbols at once.

At the start of each spin sequence, in the bottom corner of the game grid is a glowing treasure chest. As symbols fall from the spiral and move up to close the gaps, the chest starts to travel towards the centre.
