How Pirots works

A beautiful tropical bay is the setting here, and the cheeky pirate parrots have flown up into the rigging, which forms the reels. Pirots may take a little getting used to, but don't worry - we'll walk you through it. The game has four swashbuckling parakeets to watch for - the red, blue, purple and green. Each will land in a random position on every spin of the 5x5 reel set.

If a bird lands adjacent to one or more gems that match its colour, they will light up and it will hop around collecting them. Any gems in the trail, that are not blocked by other coloured gems or birds, form part of the win. Pirots is an avalanche slot, so new symbols will drop in to replace all those that form part of a win. There are also plenty of power ups along the way, which will give those gems a boost and help you grow your pile of treasure.

Reel treasures

Arrows upgrade the gems up to five times, increasing the value each time. White arrows will transform any gem matching the bird that collected them; multicoloured arrows will transform every gem.

Rum jars, when drunk by the bird that collects them, will turn gems of another colour into its own.

Wilds will change colour to macth the bird that is collecting them.

Gold coins pay an instant win, multiplying the value of the coin by that of the bet.

Bombs explode after all gems have been collected, blasting the birds off the reels and expanding the reel set by one row and one column each time - up to a maximum of 8x8. After the reels expand, the parrots will return and settle in new positions.

Anchors are the game's bonus round trigger. One or more birds must collect three of these during any spin or subsequent cascades and expansions, in order to unlock the bonus round.

Every collected gem also contributes a little to the treasure meter above the reels, and when the bar is full, it generates three chests containing random power-ups.

Free Spins

The bonus round is a free spins feature, with five games initially awarded and the chance to trigger more during the round. In this mode, gem upgrades are cumulative, and the reel expansions also lock until the end of the round.
